Contents

[edit] CyberBoard Player Program (CBPlay.exe)

[edit] LOS tool

A tool for drawing a line between 2 points to determine LOS as well as measure distances.

--Johan 2007-06-24

[edit] Comments

The plotted move feature can often be used as a substitute for such a tool.

[edit] Group Markers

the ability to lock grouped markers together, so they can be moved as one unit. I know this can be done each turn/move by highlighting the required group, but an option for CBPlay to automatically remember & recognise the group would help.

[edit] Approach to Discouraging Cheating on Die Rolls

To discourage cheating during a game I propose to indicate in "The message history window" when you save (or "save as") the game. If a player save the game just before to roll dices I may have a doubt about his honesty.

[edit] Comments

I think this is a great idea. It's so simple but yet has never been suggested before. It certainly never occurred to me. It's not bullet proof but makes it more of a hassle to try the re-roll tactic.

[edit] CyberBoard Editor Program (CBDesign.exe)

[edit] Drag & Drop for Tile/artwork

Rather than having to save tiles as .gtls and reload them if you require them in a different folder, I would like the ability to move them by just dragging the tiles into the desired folders.

--Zombiegod 2007-06-24

[edit] Comments

Although CBDesign doesn't have this exact feature it does somewhat support this already. To clone some tiles from one tile group to another, select the tiles and hit Ctrl-C (or use menu command Edit > Copy). Then go to the other group and select the tile you want to insert before and press Ctrl-V (or use menu commad Edit > Paste.

To move tiles use the Ctrl-C key to select them again. Then go to the other group and right click on the tile you want to insert before. Select the Move Tiles Here (Ctrl-M) command. This will move them.

Finally, You can rearrange the order of tiles within a group using drag and drop (just not between groups).

[edit] Exporting and importing maps

The ability to export and import maps. It is already possible to copy the old gbx-file into an old one, but not to merge maps from two gbx-files.

--Johan 2007-06-24

RESPONSE: You can do that easily, although to Export you need to use CBplayer. Just start a new Scenerio with the blank map and choose Edit>"Save Board Image in file". For importing there is already a command in CB Designer that lets you past a bitmap from a file. --KLW1222 17:08, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

[edit] A tool for shading tiles and trimming corners

A tool for shading edges of tiles darker and lighter. A tool for removing tile corners. (A macro tool might be best?)

--Johan 2007-06-24

RESPONSE: For 'clipping' counters, I do that when I make blanks. It only takes a minute to pencil in some transparent pixels. Then when I clone all the subsequent counter tiles, they are already 'clipped'

[edit] Propagate updates

A way to propagate updates from a modified gbx-file to gsn- and gam-files.

--Johan 2007-06-24

[edit] Center dot for hexes

The ability to set a center dot for hexes (in the same way that you set hexsides) for a map.

--Johan 2007-06-24

[edit] A Dotted Line tool

I think I asked for this many moons ago, but is there any way to make a DOTTED (or dashed) line?

--KLW1222 17:47, 3 August 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Comments

This has been in the wish list for quite some time. The problem is related to Windows' graphics API (GDI). It only allows stylized lines that are a single pixel wide. I'm hopeful that the open source port of CB will make this possible. Right now we're focusing on the porting the current feature list. When done, anyone can jump in and help provide this feature (and others).

[edit] CyberBoard Wiki

[edit] Host Gamebox-specific Wiki Pages

Having received a question on my old SPI War of the Ring gamebox, and stumbling across this site in reeducating myself on CyberBoard, I am wondering if there might be value in hosting Wiki pages for specific gameboxes on this site. In some cases, the gamebox-specific Wiki entry might just redirect the reader to another website; but in other cases, a gamebox designer and/or a gamebox's fans could provide a more detailed help page.
